Micro-Vascular Decomposition

Our neurosurgeons perform microvascular decompression surgery for patients experiencing trigeminal neuralgia. This surgery involves a craniotomy in order to access the brain. The surgeon will insert a sponge between the nerve and the artery that is triggering the pain signals. This “padding” prevents the pain from triggering and resolves the issue for many patients.
